He was tearing up because he was asked “You know there are American heroes, who don’t like this idea?” Talking about SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk. Then the 60 minutes reporter goes on to say “Neil Armstrong, Eugene Cernan, and have both testified against commercial space flight and the way you are developing it, and I wonder what you think of that?”
Elon Musk goes on to say “I was very sad to see that, because those guys are heroes of mine, so it’s really tough”.
Only problem, these people never once put down Space X. In fact here is what they really said in the article. They completely distorted what these men had said to make it seem like they were against Elon Musk, so Elon Musk would have a bad reaction. 60 minutes even came out with an apology over distorting what these men had said here.
